Buffalo are ungulates who often move in very large
herds of more than over 400. Bachelor herds of four to five or solitary ones who
live alone do not mix with the herd. During
the dry season they are prey to lion. They bath in mud pools to
rid themselves of parasites
and as a barrier against insect attacks.
Never domesticated, the Cape buffalo is one of the most dangerous
animals.
