Region : The Mountain Reedbuck has a peculiar
distribution, occurring only in the hills and mountains of Ethiopia and East
Africa, Southern Africa, and the Adamana mountains of the Cameroons.
Description : They are
smaller and have less developed markings than the bohor and common reedbuck
Habitat : The mountain reedbuck is a grazer which frequents
rolling, grassy hills and steep, rocky slopes above 1500m.
Weight : 30kg
Height : 75cm.
Horns : up to 38cm long forward hooked

Food : They can feed on grasses which are either
inaccessible or unpalatable to other antelope. The mountain reedbuck is
considered comparatively water independent.
Habits : Night active
Young : . Calving mostly in rainy
season. Maturity at 2 years, (f), and 4 years, (m). Gestation period 7.5 months.
Predators : Leopards, Hyena,
Lion, Cheetah and wild dog.
